Pizarro has been in the limelight
since he was just three and performed with the Gulbenkian Orchestra
when he was 13. He went on to win first prizes in the
1987 Vianna da Motta Competition, the 1988 Greater Palm Beach
Symphony Competition and the 1990 Leeds International Pianoforte
Competition.
Pizarro now performs internationally
in recital, chamber music and with the world's leading orchestras
and conductors. At this limited ticket event, he will
play works by Chopin, Debussy and Ravel.
The evening will be compered by
Smooth Radio broadcaster Mark Goodier, who will give the
audience the chance to hear Pizarro give a fascinating insight into
his chosen repertoire.
He is just one of a series of world
class artists coming together for a star-studded set of intimate
pop, jazz and classical recitals to celebrate the 200th
anniversary of the famous musical superstore, Chappell of Bond
Street. Money raised from ticket sales will raise vital funds for
Centrepoint, helping the UK's homeless young people.
The sensational Pizarro performs on
30th June, followed by Mercury Music nominees The Kit Downes Trio
on 15th September and Jazz favourite Jamie Cullum, whose exclusive
performance will mark the finale of the concerts on
1st December. The series of concerts was kicked off by
acclaimed concert pianist Freddy Kempf on 4th April.
All of the artists are devoting their services free of charge
to raise vital funds for Centrepoint to give homeless
young people a future by providing a safe home and the support to
get their lives back on track.
Each event
will be held at Chappell of Bond Street at 7pm.
Ticket prices include an intimate performance, an opportunity to
meet the artist, a drinks reception and a goody bag.
Due to the unique, exclusive nature of the events, tickets are
very limited and are expected to sell out well in advance so early
booking is advised.
Tickets for both Artur Pizzaro and The Kit Downes Trio cost £50
each, with Jamie Cullum tickets available at £100.
Each event will be held at Chappell of Bond Street, 152 Wardour
St , Soho. Doors open for the Pizarro concert at 7pm for
pre-concert drinks and canapes before the recital at 7.30pm.
