Gill Gibb
Gill is currently the Chief Executive of the Canterbury Oast
Trust, a charity based in the south-east of England offering homes,
training, development and work opportunities to adults with
learning disabilities. The charity runs a number of social
enterprises to provide these life-skills including the south of
England Rare Breeds Centre, the Coterie Tea-rooms in Rye, the
Rainbow Gallery in Woodchurch and the Granary Restaurant.
Prior to this Gill was Executive Director of the Charity
Employees Benevolent Fund (CEBF), a new charity established to
build a fund for past and present charity employees to apply for
welfare assistance and advice. Gill was also Director of the
not-for-profit knowledge centre at Knowledge Peers, an information
sharing website for directors. She has also run her own consultancy
advising in the not-for-profit sector on marketing, fundraising,
business development and financial issues.
Before this role, she was Executive Director of Market
Development at Future Builders, now the Social Investment Business.
Prior to this she spent almost three years as Director of Financial
Services at the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) focusing upon the
sales and marketing of the Banking, Investments and
Fundraising products to charities and social enterprises. Gill led
the team at CAF which won the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the
area of innovation.
Prior to this Gill spent 18 years in a number of senior
executive positions with HBOS Plc, running among other things sales
and marketing for the Retail Bank network, running the estate
Aaency chain, heading operations for the telephony business and she
was heavily involved in the Halifax and Bank of Scotland merger.
Her key skill areas are banking and finance, marketing, project and
change management and she has been heavily involved in developing
strategy across different business areas.
Personally Gill is a keen marathon runner, having run several to
raise funds for Centrepoint, and she lives in a small village
called Charing inKentwith her husband, Doug.
