Paul became a Centrepoint trustee following Centrepoint's
takeover of the South London-based supported housing
organisation, Stopover. Prior to this, he had been chair of the
Stopover board and a member of that board since 1992. He has held a
long-term interest in the housing and supported housing field,
having worked in the supported housing sector for over 10
years. As a qualified social worker, he has experience of
working in a range of fields including mental health, HIV, child
protection, family support and family therapy.
As a specialist services manager for a London borough, he
manages the delivery of support and services for a diverse range of
users, including those with no recourse to public funds, asylum
seekers, vulnerable adults, adult HIV services, children's HIV
services and specialist child protection. Since he specialises in
some unusual areas of social work, he holds the unique remit of
managing services within both the Adult Social Services and
Children Young People and Learners departments of the borough in
which he works. He also works within the academic area of social
work and training, in conjunction with a number of organisations
and universities in this field.
