And the benefits are...?

Centrepoint Partnering has made a real difference to the organisations it has worked with since 2005. This section highlights any support received and what the partners think about the project.

“I feel really proud that Centrepoint approached Coatham House to do the partnering. The effectiveness and the positive response to staff says ‘yes please’ to more”

The ethos behind Centrepoint’s Support and development approach ensures that staff are working ‘with’ young people rather than doing things for them. All of the staff have benefited from a more consistent and structured way of supporting young people.

I have changed my view on Support and development after Centrepoint Partnering. Now it is a structured approach. Staff are given a set way of doing things”

The approach helps tackle the personal, social, educational and vocational needs of homelessness young people, enabling them to achieve the best possible outcomes and demonstrate the value of the journeys they have made. Each partner organisation has tailored the Support and development approach to their needs and service.

“The Risk Assessment is fantastic and the referral process is much improved”

Centrepoint Partnering provides IT support, IT equipment and uses partner feedback to develop a comprehensive database tailored to partners’ needs. This reduces the amount of time that staff have to spend on report writing and give accurate statistical data that can support future funding bids .

We deliver bespoke training programmes after first identifying partners’ staff training needs. We also identify additional external training courses and have provided organisations with training packages such as train the trainer, supervision and appraisal.

“Thanks for all that you have done, for all the help and for making the training fun! Hope to see you at the forum”

The Centrepoint Partnering Forum meets every 6 months and current partners are invited to attend. By sharing relevant information on things like funding opportunities and emerging national agendas, Centrepoint Partnering has ensured that small partner organisations’ voices are heard more loudly. The forum provides networking opportunities which has led to organisations learning from each other and the future possibility of consortium training.

“Centrepoint is a large organisation with a good reputation throughout England. It is beneficial as a small organisation to be linked to gain this higher profile”
