Gifts-in-kind

The most cost-effective method of support.

Centrepoint is both a campaigning charity and a Registered Social Landlord that enables homeless young people to have a home amd be supported. So we spend a significant proportion of our income on professional services (e.g. surveying) or plant and equipment including household items (e.g. washing machines).  If we can cover the costs with gifts-in-kind we fee up finance to invest in our charitable work.

There are numerous examples where companies and organisations  have stepped forward to provide  these items or services as gifts-in-kind.  For example, King Sturge recently agreed to survey all our properties; in fact they agreed to do a full Stock Condition Survey. With an accurate snap-shot of the state of our buildings we can btter plan maintenance and future developments.  Electrolux provided 30 new washing machines for some of our accommodation where young people are beginning to fend fully for themselves. The Northern Ireland Office staff team in London have been providing training for various staff.

If you want to do something about youth homelessness, and can provide us with goods or a service that we might need, please make contact (see below).  We will give you an honest picture of our current needs. We will of course help generate effective PR about any support that you provide, if that is what you want.
