Life stories
Every homeless young person who comes to Centrepoint has their own past. Each has their particular story, and their individual needs, wants and challenges. We work to ensure that every homeless young person who comes to live with us lays firm foundations so they have a brighter future.
Sam's story
Sam was dressed in her school uniform clutching her school bag when she arrived at our emergency hostel at Berwick Street, Soho. She looked younger than her 16 years and very vulnerable.
Stephen's story
Within a day of arriving in London, Stephen was “befriended” by a drug addict. Within a week he was taking drugs himself. Within a month he was stealing to pay for his habit, and within two years he was in prison.
Four stories, four decades
To mark Centrepoint's 40th anniversary we wanted to celebrate some achievements, remember some great moments, and look back at the testimonies of some of the amazing people who have been involved with Centrepoint.
