For ten days, Graeme Holdsworth, will tackle 100 miles per day, covering an ascent of 55,942 feet throughout the expedition. Unsupported, Graeme will have to travel light as he will be carrying all of his equipment with him on his bike, and sleeping in youth hostels along the route.  Graeme is also using the GPS on his phone to update a widget so that his journey can be tracked by friends and family.

Before embarking on his challenge, Graeme said:

“It’s quite a big challenge. Getting back on the bike each day after having done 100 miles the day before is going to take some determination. And without anyone to speak to I might start going a little mad! But I set myself the challenge because I wanted to give to a charity which helps homeless young people get back on their feet properly and Centrepoint does that, not just providing a safe haven off the streets but providing them with the emotional, educational and health support to move forward. That’s great motivation.”

Head of fundraising at Centrepoint John Raynham said:

“This is an enormous challenge and Graeme has shown determination and commitment every step along the way, with training, planning and fundraising. He has raised over £3,800 to date, which will make such a huge impact on the work that Centrepoint does giving homeless young people a future to look forward to. Everyone at Centrepoint is extremely grateful for his hard work."

It is still possible to show support for Graeme and make his pain all the more worthwhile by donating online at www.justgiving.com/graemeholdsworth!”
