GAP plugged in homeless young people’s Christmas wish lists
This Christmas staff at leading high street retailer GAP, have added an extra present to their Christmas shopping list to help homeless young people at Centrepoint.
Centrepoint received nearly 100 beautifully wrapped Christmas presents for homeless young people at its accommodation-based services across London. Amongst other items the gifts include essential toiletries and stylish bags. In addition, GAP donated 200 items of winter clothing to keep young people warm over the winter months.
Head of Fundraising John Raynham said “This is a wonderful Christmas gesture from the staff at Gap and it will make many homeless young people feel that someone cares this Christmas. Many young people at Centrepoint leave home or are forced from home with little more than what they have on them. And for many, this will be the first Christmas for years that they have felt safe in a place they can call home. In addition to that they now have some wonderful presents to unwrap on Christmas day.”
Centrepoint’s Countdown to Christmas appeal is on until Christmas day. Centrepoint desperately needs to raise £266,437 in 40 days to support homeless young people in Centrepoint services over the Christmas period. Just £24 can provide a bed for a homeless young person on Christmas day, £70 could pay for accommodation over the Christmas week for a homeless young person. With your help, we can give a homeless young person a happy Christmas – and a better future.
