Getting from childhood to adulthood is a complex journey. Between the ages of 16 and 25, life is full of change, stress, expectation and anticipation.
So what happens when those precious years are also filled with abuse and homelessness? You might not associate depression with an 18 year old, but each year around 50% of the young people at Centrepoint need counselling or therapy to free them from the trauma of their childhood.
This means our Centrepoint health team has to both identify and treat serious emotional and mental health problems.
We desperately need two new therapists in the Centrepoint health team to provide life-changing support for young people struggling with severe mental health issues.
The Anglo American Group Foundation has pledged a gift of £36,325 to fund one full-time therapist post, but only if we can match that gift with donations from our supporters. So, in order to fund a second vital post, we desperately need your help to reach our target of £36,325, because every £1 donated will be worth £2.
