In the UK, there is a shortage of what is known as social housing. It is really important for young people to be realistic about the housing situation in the UK and to understand that being homeless will not guarantee that someone will get a council flat. Agencies & day centres
If you are homeless, there are a number of day centres and agencies that you can go to in the day time to get a cooked meal, have a shower, wash your clothes and use the facilities to help you look for temporary accommodation.
